Good News For Those With Eyes to See and Ears To Hear

For those who have been following the work of people like the Frontline Covid-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC), the frustration could be immense. There are many who have witnessed the frustration of these and other doctors who have been working tirelessly for their patients with much greater success than the majority of their profession (if looking at the appalling death statistics is anything to go by). And their discovery of effective treatment is effectively being ignored, leading to a dramatically higher death rate than need be in treating this disease.

Dr Pirre Kory has given information to two Senate hearings, both times trying to point out how his group of doctors has had great success in treating Covid-19 and wanted to share their understanding. The first hearing was with the US Senate Committee of Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs on Treating Covid (19th May 2020). This was at the time when the medical consensus was against the use of corticosteroids. Dr Kory stated how one of their group, Dr Umberto Meduri, considered one of the world’s leading specialists in corticosteroid use in critical illness, published a paper on the use of steroids in all the previous pandemics. He found that the use of corticosteroid use was life-saving once the disease had progressed. The FLCCC had found in their own experience that it saved lives in the case of Covid-19, it reduced the need for ventilators and significantly reduced mortality. Dr Kory described the use of corticosteroids as a “game-changer” they found that it wasn’t the virus that was killing their patients it was the inflammation that followed and Methylprednisolone was found to be the most effective steroid to treat this.

At his second Senate hearing. the US Senate Hearing About I-MASK+ Protocol (December 8 2020), At the hearing, he says, “What I want to talk about is we have a solution to this crisis. There is a drug that is proving to have a miraculous impact on this crisis. When I say “miracle”, I do not use that term lightly.’ He mentions the ‘mountains of data’ supporting their belief that Ivermectin, which now plays centre-stage in their new protocols, is deserved the label ‘miraculous’ for its ability to defeat Covid-19. He says ‘It basically obliterates transmission of this virus…If you take it you will not get sick.’ I wonder as I write this how long this page will last before being censored for daring to report an effective treatment for Coivid. As I am a little fish, I might be ok. Dr Kory, nevertheless, is serious. I am not sitting here praising the work of this group without considered thought. People who know me and know my work will know that I do not easily praise medicinal drugs. Dr Paul Marik, the group founder, however, is regarded by Dr Kory as ‘the second most published intensivist in the world. His contribution to the care of septic shock patients and insight into food management substances is unparalleled.’

Whilst I might not agree with every single thing they say, I would defend their right to say it. And, in their case, I have great respect for their dedication, integrity, and courage. I believe in their sincerity and their accumulated expertise. I intend to do everything I can to inform those who have eyes to see and ears to hear about their work and the value of their protocols.

The two hearings I refer to above are recorded and are available at their site, along with a whole lot more. What I want to add here is some information that, in my view, has the ability to save lives. This pertains to the ability of Ivermectin to prevent infection as Dr Kory has mentioned. To do this we can refer, in some small way,  to some of the evidence that Dr Kory has reviewed that has inspired his enthusiasm for this drug. I have also looked at other sources for information to get some understanding of the significance of the effect of Ivermectin on Covid-19.

Ivermectin Wonder Drug?

Discovered in the late 1970s, from a single microorganism in Japanese soil and isolated at the Kitasato Institute Tokyo. Originally introduced as a veterinary drug for treating a range of internal and external parasites in livestock. It was, however, discovered that it was ideal at combating two of the world’s most devastating and disfiguring diseases ‘which have plagued the world’s poor throughout the tropics for centuries.’ Ivermectin was used to treat and eradicate Onchocerciasis, commonly known as River Blindness, the second leading cause of blindness caused by an infectious disease that was endemic in the 1970s in 34 countries and affected 2 million people. The second major disease that it controlled was Lymphatic filariasis which blighted the lives of billions of people throughout the tropics. It has since been found to be effective against numerous parasitic diseases and all this led to it being called the ‘Wonder drug’ from Japan.

The two people who discovered the benefits of Ivermectin, Professor Satoshi Omura and William Campbell were awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2015 for their discovery. It is listed on the World Health Organisation’s as an “essential Medicine”. It is estimated that more than 4 billion doses have been taken over the past 40 years. It is considered a very safe drug.

Ivermectin for prevention

The FLCCC Alliance have found that the most important thing they have learned about Covid-19 is that it is important to respond early. This was revealed in their December press conference in Houston, Texas, where Dr Paul Marik opened their program with the following introduction:

‘We are going to talk about early treatment, and we think this is the key that Patients who get Covid need to be treated early at home. What is the point of waiting at home until you get overwhelming lung disease and you cannot breathe and you are then admitted to hospital? That makes no sense! [my emphasis] We want to treat these people early, at home to prevent them progressing to the late phase. Now whilst we have the MATH protocol which has had an impact on the hospital treatment, patients are still suffering, patients are still dying. So we have to put our emphasis on the prevention and early treatment of this disease. And we believe we have a solution. That solution is the I-MASK+ protocol. This is for the early prevention of Covid-19′ [my emphasis].

 

‘The prevention or prophylaxis protocol is based on ivermectin which is as you will see a remarkable antiviral agent. In addition, we add some therapeutic agents which increase the host immune system so that he can fight off infection.”

In much of the world, there is no effective treatment for dealing with an illness such as Covid-19 at home. In a previous posting, I have mentioned how important it is to add various supplements to bolster the immune system, such as vitamin C, vitamin D3 and zinc. Their protocol includes such items and more and includes ivermectin. For many adding ivermectin can make the difference between suffering for weeks and in some cases where those with compromised immune systems could be faced with hospitalisation and facing an uncertain outcome-or making a very swift recovery. Again Dr Marik explains:

‘Just to re-emphasise, this is a safe drug, exceedingly cheap. What is truly remarkable, this was a gift to us [my emphasis]. Ivermectin has high activity against Covid-19. Let me repeat that. Ivermectin has high activity against Covid-19 again, [my emphasis] and as we will see it is highly efficacious for pre-exposure treatment, or post-exposure treatment, for treatment in the early symptomatic phase, and remarkably it has clinical activity in the late-stage hospitalized patients.’

Evidence for Ivermectin Accumulating All the Time

In December 2020, this frontline group published their review of the evidence for the use of Ivermectin:

Review of the Emerging Evidence Demonstrating the Efficacy of Ivermectin in the Prophylaxis and Treatment of COVID-19. We can briefly look at some of this research:

Firstly they reported that one of their most recent papers reported a 6.1% hospital mortality rate in COVID-19 patients measured in the two U.S hospitals that systematically adopted the MATH+ protocol (Kory et al., 2020). This was a markedly
decreased mortality rate compared to the 23.0% hospital mortality rate calculated from a review of 45 studies including over 230,000 patients. ‘

They give a number of properties of Ivermectin that they found critical, I will just give a few examples. However, before mentioning these attributes I must emphasize, that none of these doctors (nor myself) has any financial interest of any kind in this or any products to do with their protocol. It should become apparent if you explore this group that they are very dedicated doctors who are trying to prevent death and unnecessary suffering and anguish.

Here are some of the discovered benefits of Ivermectin according to their paper:

• Ivermectin inhibits SARS-Cov-2 replication.
• Ivermectin has potent anti-inflammatory properties.
• Ivermectin significantly diminishes viral load.
• Ivermectin hastens recovery and prevents deterioration in patients with mild to moderate disease.
• Ivermectin hastens recovery and avoidance of ICU admission and death in hospitalized patients.
• Ivermectin reduces mortality in critically ill patients with COVID-19

Dr Kory explains that they now have ‘reviewed 27 controlled trials, 16 of them are randomized control trials, five of them are double-blind, and one of them is single-blind so we have numerous trials from centers and countries around the world. The 27 trials include over 6500 patients. In the randomized trials alone over 2500 patients.’

In his testimony to the Homeland Security Committee Meeting, Dec 8th, he expressed dismay about the total lack of response to their press conference in Houston (Dec 4th) which was broadcast by Associated Press and Univision to nearly every country globally. Other than the Health Ministry of the Government of Uganda, who is currently reviewing our manuscript with the intent of incorporating our treatment protocol into a national treatment guideline, they had not heard from any national news radio, newspaper or television station. Nor had they heard from any U.S. health care agency.

UK Doctors Confirm FLCCC’s Findings on Ivermectin

A UK doctor, however, had heard Dr Kory’s impassioned plea to the Homeland Security Hearing decided to see if she could help them, Dr. Tess Lawrie is director of the Evidence-Based Medicine Consultancy in Bath, UK. Her business conducts industry independent medical evidence synthesis to support international clinical practice guidelines. Her biggest clients are the NHS and the WHO. She looked at their evidence and did a meta-analysis to the standard that she usually undertook for WHO, in a report called, ‘Ivermectin for preventing and treating Covid-19’.

The evidence she found confirmed what the FLCCC had been saying, ‘The evidence indicated that ivermectin probably reduces deaths by an average of 83% (95% Cl, 65% to 92%) compared to no ivermectin treatment.’

In a video interview with Jennifer Hibberd Dr Lawrie explained how she emailed Ministers in Parliament, the Health Ministry, she emailed Journals and said ‘It was like everybody was asleep, and days were moving on, and I was very aware people were dying unnecessarily. Instead of the number of people dying, there could be just 20% of that number dying. So for every 10 people dying there were just 8 people dying unnecessarily-something like that.’

She also wrote to the Prime Minister Boris Johnson and sent him her report. She has also recorded an open letter to him.

If you think Dr Lawrie might be the only Doctor to be so inspired by the findings of the FLCCC alliance to directly address the highly inspiring results of Ivermectin to the country’s Prime Minister, you would be wrong. Dr Marc Wathelet a Consultant, coronavirus specialist with expertise in molecular and cellular biology, the adaptive immune response to viral infections and much more, has extensively reviewed the evidence from the FLCCC and also the meta-study cited above by Dr Tess Lawrie. He has written a letter to the Belgian Prime Minister, the Minister of Public Health, and advisers. Here is an introduction:

“I belong to a group of scientists and medical doctors with more than 7,000 members around the world simply asking health authorities in every country to review the existing data indicating that Ivermectin is efficient both as a prophylactic, to prevent transmission of the virus, and as a treatment for COVID-19 patients.

I propose a straightforward plan that would eradicate the new coronavirus from Belgium in less than six weeks, which would be enormously beneficial at all levels: sanitary, economic, social, psychological and political! We could resume all economic activities and schools within three weeks, masking would become unnecessary in most contexts by the sixth week.”

This is a serious letter with numerous proposals:

“First we must conduct an emergency clinical trial of Ivermectin both as a prophylactic and for the treatment of severe forms. Undeniably, this drug represents an exceptional opportunity to rid Belgium, and the world, of SARS-CoV-2. Let us not waste it; let us not miss that opportunity with a molecule that has such an exemplary safety record

The benefice / risk ratio of using Ivermectin as a prophylactic and treatment of COVID-19 is vastly superior to any other drug candidate.

There are other scientists and doctors who have realised the significance of Ivermectin in dealing with this crisis. Dr Andrew Hill of the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Liverpool (UK) is currently performing a WHO-sponsored review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials of ivermectin against covid. In the following 12-minute video, Dr Hill is presenting his preliminary results, which indicate a highly significant 83% reduction in covid mortality (95% CI 65%-92%). The YouTube presentation has been removed. If you can find any reason that the video of this Doctor should have been removed, let me know. In my view, this scientist is simply doing his job. His work confirms both that of the FLCCC and Dr Lawrie and many others have found, that there exists an effective treatment for Covid-19 that they have all found to saves lives. Is that a crime?

 

Houston Calling

I will leave you with the words of Drs Kory, Marik and Varon from the  Houston Press conference:

Dr Pierre Kory: ‘This press conference is a call to action. We are asking our healthcare doctors to review this data and provide us with more specific guidance. While we wait for that, I am asking every healthcare provider in the country, the doctors, the nurse practitioners, the physician assistants, to please review our manuscript in which we have compiled all of this data. It is extremely compelling and you need to educate yourself. We believe that you can truly help patients.

There are 100,000 patients today in the United States, we need to stop filling the hospitals’

Dr Paul Marik: ‘We appeal to the national, the international and global health authority to please review the data. This is a crisis situation. We have put together a document that summarises all the information on Ivermectin. This is available on our website as well as other helpful data. We implore doctors, physician, healthcare providers, nurses, physician assistants. Please familiarise yourself with this information.

It’s up to you to help us collectively save the world we have to do this now, people are dying. We are appealing to these national and global health authorities. Please review the data and provide guidance to healthcare workers across the world so they can prescribe this medication. As of this morning, over 2,000 people [actual figure for daily deaths on the 4^th Dec 2,563] have died in this country. These people suffer a miserable death, they suffocate. We can no longer stand by idly and do nothing. We have to act. We have to act now. We have to act with conviction, we have to act with compassion, it’s now time. Thankyou.’

Dr Joseph Varon: ‘Dr Marik’s words are echoed by everybody at the FLCCC Alliance. We have all been working hard. I have been working 260 continuous days without a single day off. We are tired, we are exhausted, patients are dying in front of our eyes. My nurses cry in the middle of the day when they see their patients dying. We need to do something. We believe the IMASK protocol will change the face of this worldwide, and that’s why you guys are here today. That’s why we have you here. You are our voice. You are the only way that by which we can transmit this information out there. And we urge you to listen.’

It is up to us what we do with this information. I believe the only way we will get out of this crisis will be if we demand those who are seemingly managing or mismanaging this crisis to pay heed to these doctors.

This drug is cheap, it costs a few dollars in most Asian countries and is obtainable over-the-counter, and has a proven safety record. It doesn’t have to be viewed as a challenge to vaccination. There are those who would question the wisdom of waiting months for a vaccine when this is available now. The FLCCC Alliance has been asking for the NIH simply to support its use NOW, so doctors can freely prescribe it. The FLCCC have delivered their paper to the White house. These doctors need our support. Copy this article. Send it to other people. Send links to items that you feel would help get the message out. The more available this information the more pressure there will be for people to act.

We have to do what we can to end this pandemic. By slowing and ending this pandemic we will then allow the businesses to open up. We will allow our schools to open up. We will allow the economies across the world to open up… We can’t sit by idly, any longer and do nothing… This is a cheap drug, this is safe. We should be able to act now to control this pandemic.

An important update to this article.

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons has added their support for the use of both Hyroxychloroquine and/or Ivermectin for the treatment of Covid-19. You can download their Patient Booklet from their website

Their treatment protocol also includes taking vitamin C, vitamin D and zinc amongst other items, as with the above protocol by the FLCCC. They also point out that zinc is a critical component with Hydroxychloroquine. They actually state in a box in red tetters just to emphasize the point: Zinc is critical. It helps block the virus from multiplying.
Hydroxychloroquine is the carrier taking zinc INTO the cells to do its job.

This confirms what we have already stated and has been revealed by Dr Zelenko, that zinc plays a significant role with Hydroxychloroquine and within the cell immune system generally now recognized.

The question remains, whether the intransigence of the NIH or the medical authorities in other countries like the UK with regard to the use of ivermectin, who have such a terrible record with treating Covid-19 and such an abysmally high death rate, will be thanked for sitting on their hands and not encouraging their own doctors to use what seems to be an effective treatment when introduced early.
