Massive Dose Vitamin C Approved in China

With all the bad news we have been having, about the coronavirus we need some good news.

For me, some of the good news was hearing that Chinese doctors were successfully using vitamin C. According to Doctor Richard Cheng, reporting from China, they had undertaken three trials using high dosage vitamin C. One was for a study using 12,000 to 24,000 mg/day of vitamin C by IV (intravenously).

A second trial was set up using smaller doses (6,000 mg/day and 12,000 mg/day for moderate and severe cases).

On February 21st, 2020, Dr Cheng announced that a third trial had been approved for intravenous use of vitamin C against the COVID-19 outbreak.

Dr Cheng believes the reliance on treatment focusing on a vaccine and specific antiviral drugs is misplaced. He also advocates taking vitamin C as a preventative.

Andrew Saul PhD., the editor of the Orthomolecular News Service, has been in communication with Dr Cheng. He agrees with Dr Cheng when he says: ‘Medical orthodoxy obsessively focuses on searching for a vaccine and/or drug for coronavirus (COVID-19). While they are looking for what would be fabulously profitable approaches, we have with vitamin C an existing, plausible, clinically demonstrated method to treat what coronavirus patients die from: severe acute respiratory syndrome or pneumonia. [1]

Listen to Dr Cheng giving advice on the usage of vitamin C from his experience in China (April 2nd). For those of you who would like a more in-depth discussion, this following report is the one that, for some reason, was removed from Utube. It is one and a half hours long, with slides and references:  VC & Integrative Medicine in the Prevention & Treatment of Covid 19.

Further Reports From Asia

An official statement from China’s Xi’an Jiatong University Second Hospital, following high-dose vitamin C treatment, patients in the C10 West Ward of Tongi Hospital were able to be discharged. The statement advised: “[H]igh-dose vitamin C achieved good results in clinical applications. We believe that for patients with severe neonatal pneumonia, and for critically ill patients, vitamin C treatment should be initiated as soon as possible after admission…High-dose vitamin C can not only improve antiviral levels but more importantly, can prevent and treat acute lung injury (ALI) and acute respiratory distress (ARDS).”

Doctors in South Korea have also found the use of vitamin C useful. Hyoungjoo Shin, M.D., reveals, ‘In my hospital in Daegu, South Korea, all inpatients and all staff members have been using vitamin C orally since last week. Some people this week had a mild fever, headaches and coughs, and those who had symptoms got 30,000 mg intravenous vitamin C. Some people got better after about two days and most had symptoms go away after one injection.’

Richard Cheng, MD, PhD., urged this advice ’We need to broadcast a message worldwide very quickly: Vitamin C (small or large doses) does no harm to people and is one of the few, if not only agent that has the chance to prevent us from getting, and can treat, COVID-19 infection.’ [2]

Vitamin C Trials in the USA

The New York Post, writing on March 4th, 2020, revealed that New York state’s largest hospital system was giving seriously sick coronavirus patients massive doses of vitamin C—based on the promising reports coming from the Chinese authorities.

Dr Andrew G. Weber, a pulmonologist and critical care specialist affiliated with two Northwell Health facilities based on Long Island, informs us that his intensive-care patients with the coronavirus immediately receive 1,500 milligrams of intravenous vitamin C. They are given repeat doses three or four times a day. He explains that he found vitamin C levels in coronavirus patients drop dramatically when they suffer sepsis and that an inflammatory response occurs when their bodies overreact to the infection. He says, ‘It makes all the sense in the world to try and maintain this level of vitamin C.’

‘It makes all the sense in the world to try and maintain this level of vitamin C.’

On 26th March, Newsweek revealed US trials were underway: ‘Large doses of vitamin C are being administered to patients in intensive care at certain hospitals in New York, Newsweek has confirmed with a spokesperson for Northwell Health.’     Dr Andrew G Weber

Dr Paul Malik, Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, VA, USA, has released the EMS Critical Care Covid-19 Management Protocol that incorporates  vitamin C that he has marked as follows;

URGENT! Please circulate as widely as possible. It is crucial that every pulmonologist, every critical care doctor
and nurse, every hospital administrator, every public health official receive this information immediately.

I pass this on in good faith. It will be updated continuously. Here is a new update from them for their hospital protocol:

IMPORTANT they have developed a new protocol for PREVENTION. For information about this check here:

Check out their new site and videos etc. These are serious critical care specialists at the top of their game, they are not fringe doctors, these are mainstream doctors, with over 2000 published works between them.

Dr Joseph Varagon, a Pulmonologist, at United General Hospital in Houston, Texas, is also using vitamin C as part of his protocol, using 3,000 mg every 6 hours. Whilst this does not compare with Dr Klenner’s high-dose regime where he was known to give 25,000 to 35,000 mg vitamin every two hours to kill viruses, will nevertheless, significantly help his patients, and he claims to have 100% success rate so far, i.e. no deaths!

Chinese Update

Richard Cheng, MD, PhD., sends us an update from china:

Dr Enqian Mao, chief of emergency medicine department at Ruijin Hospital in Shanghai, is also a member of the Senior Expert Team at the Shanghai Public Health Center, where all the Covid-19 patients have been treated. He has been using high-dose intravenous vitamin C (IVC) to treat patients with acute pancreatitis, sepsis, surgical wound healing and other medical conditions for over ten years. When Covid-19 broke out he was one of the experts that recommended the use of vitamin C IVs. All seriously or critically ill Covid-19 patients in the Shanghai area were treated in Shanghai Public Health Center, which by March 17th included 358 Covid-19 patients.

Dr Mao informs us his team treated approximately 50 patients with moderate to severe cases of Covid-19 infection with high-dose IVC varying from 10,000-20,000 mg/day for 7-10 days. Moderate cases were given 10,000 mg/day, whereas the more severe cases were given 20,000 mg/day.

The good news is all the patients who received IVC improved and there was no mortality. They also had shorter hospital stays from 3-5 days less. One patient who was deteriorating rapidly was given a bolus of 50,000 mg IVC over 4 hours and he eventually stabilized, they also reported that there were no side effects.

Time for Change

I have written about some of the doctors who have worked with vitamin C, such as Dr Frederick Klenner. Dr Robert F. Cathcart III, MD., (1932-2007), was another, who revealed: ‘I have never seen a serious reaction to vitamin supplements. Since 1969 I have taken over 2 tons of ascorbic acid myself. I have put over 20,000 patients on bowel tolerance doses of ascorbic acid without any serious problems and with great benefit.’                                                       Dr Robert F. Cathcart III

‘While it is not PC to use one antioxidant today, let us not forget that it is possible to cure acute self-limiting viral diseases such as colds, flu, mononucleosis, acute hepatitis A, B, C, etc., polio, meningitis, etc. with massive doses of ascorbate. Klenner’s paper (Klenner FR. The treatment of poliomyelitis and other virus diseases with vitamin C. J. South. Med. and Surg., 111:210-214, 1949.) Curing 60 cases of polio in the epidemic of 1948 should have changed the way infectious diseases were treated but it did not’. (See the entire paper at http://www.orthomed.com/polio.htm )

The work of Dr Frederick Klenner was ignored. It was inconvenient, in that vitamin C was unable to be patented, and it was very cheap to manufacture. The pharmaceutical industry was not interested in promoting the idea that you can beat viruses and bacteria with vitamin C. I have previously mentioned that Big Pharma paid for thousands of studies that showed that vitamin C did not work. They did this by using very small amounts. The important thing about vitamin C is taking it in large enough amounts, and often enough.

Vitamin C is more than a vitamin

Dr Cathcart explains how the damage caused by the viruses was a lot to do with free radicals, these are highly reactive molecules that are unbalanced, and vitamin C as an electron donor can neutralise them. Here is Cathcart:

‘It is possible to cure or ameliorate a disease with massive doses of ascorbate depending upon how important free radicals are in the perpetuation of the disease of its symptoms. It seems that free radicals are absolutely necessary for the perpetuation of acute viral diseases. Therefore massive doses of ascorbate will cure acute viral diseases…

Massive doses of ascorbate turn on the white cells or allow them to continue fighting while turning off antibodies. Ascorbate turns off antibodies by neutralizing the free radicals that turn them on. Steroids turn off both the white cells and the antibodies thereby increasing the possibility of secondary infection while ascorbate, while turning off the antibodies, augments the attack of white cells against pathogens.’

Vitamin C’s Ability to Destroy Bacteria and Viruses Should Not be a Secret.

Unfortunately, ignorance prevails, and most people have no idea that if we used vitamin C in the correct doses that most deaths due to the coronavirus would cease. It may sound preposterous to make this claim, but it is the truth. Here are the words of Thomas E. Levy, MD, JD: ‘Yes many viral infectious diseases have been cured and can continue to be cured by the proper administration of vitamin C.’ He further states, ‘To date, no viral infection has been demonstrated to be resistant to the proper dosing of vitamin C as demonstrated  by Klenner.’[3] Dr Levy is considered an expert on vitamin C and has written extensively about it.

‘To date, no viral infection has been demonstrated to be resistant to the proper dosing of vitamin C as demonstrated  by Klenner’

It is tempting to supply further information in the hope that you will be convinced of the truth about vitamin C. I do not wish to add any further information. If you want further information, the sources that I have already provided in the previous articles on the Coronavirus Scare and these current sources I have referenced can give you more information. One other source for further information is the Vitamin C Foundation which has a lot of information online.

Appeal for Help

What I hope to do here is to appeal to you. Many of you may feel helpless in the face of this pandemic, can I suggest that you can be pro-active in several ways. There may be some who are unaware of the work of people like Dr Frederick Klenner and Dr Robert Cathcart or the numerous other doctors and researchers who are aware of vitamin C’s potential and it’s ability to beat this virus. Don’t you feel that it is reasonable to ask our politicians and the medical authorities that are supposed to be dealing with this pandemic that we protect the people working on the front line? If there is a distinct possibility that supplying our doctors and nurses and supporting staff, with vitamin C would help them survive and be able to help their patients—and there is ample evidence that it would help their immune systems—at such a small cost, should we not provide this?

As regards to the patients, as the cost is minimal compared to drugs and the cost of intensive care—what would we lose by instigating trials as they have in China and New York in our home states, in our own countries, everywhere, in fact?

My request to you is this: Write to your member of Congress, or your Member of Parliament, ask them to consider this. Include references to Drs Klenner and Cathcart, and suggest that you are aware that they have beaten any virus they were faced with by massive doses of vitamin C, just as the Chinese have done. Or is their policy to do nothing and watch the body count rise?

How about writing to your local and national papers with the same request. What have we got to lose?

What is life really worth? I believe it is worth us doing our best.

The important thing to stress is the Klenner-sized doses. Remember he gave 25,000 to 30,000 mg in a 24 hour period to adults, sometimes more. His minimum dose of vitamin C was 360 mg per kilogram of body weight. For measles and chickenpox, he would give 25,000 to 30,000 every two hours. He eradicated polio in 72 hours.

Remember this, that no-one has ever suggested that Dr Klenner was making any false claims, no, he was just ignored.

I believe that it is time for change, time to acknowledge these pioneering doctors, but, I need your help to stop this being a secret.
